Toledo, Ohio---Will Mullins (St. Bernadette's/Bristol, United Kingdom), a sophomore on the No. 9 Owens Community College men's golf team, has been named the Co-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) golfer of the week after a vote by the conference head coaches.
Mullins, who transferred to Owens for his sophomore year, took medalist honors with a 3-over par 75 on Saturday to lead his team to a first place finish at the Cincinnati State Invitational. Then, on Sunday, he fired a 5-over 77 to tie for fifth place individually, while helping his team capture first place in the Surge Classic.
Through two conference tournaments, Mullins is one stroke off of first place individually, while Owens is in sole possession of first place as a team. Evan Bryan of Cincinnati State, who was the other co-golfer of the week, sits one shot ahead of Mullins in the individual standings.
Mullins and the Owens golf team will be back in action this weekend in Columbus, Ohio with a pair of tournaments hosted by Columbus State Community College.
