High School: 2002 Edgerton High School graduate, Edgerton, Ohio, where he was a First Team and Second Team All-Green Meadows Conference selection and named the team's MVP.  Leppelmeier also was Honorable Mention All-GMC in football and a member of the basketball team in high school.
