High School: Libbey High School graduate, where he was First Team All-City, First Team All-District, First Team All-Toledo Blade and Third Team All-State. He was selected during the basketball season by WTOL TV-11, WTVG TV-13 and WNWO TV-24 as a Player of the Week. He was voted Most Improved Player by the City League and was a member of the cross country team.
