Owens Career: In 2003-04, he was an OCCAC Academic All-Conference selection.  He averaged one point in 20 games.

High School: 2002 Genoa High School graduate, Genoa, Ohio, where he received the Gatorade "Will to Win" and Coaches awards.  In addition, Diekman was a member of the football team in high school.
