Owens career: In 2003, Smith earned a spot on the OCCAC's All-Academic team while recording 58 hits and 19 RBI.

High School: Smith earned the team's most improved player award and was honored as a scholar-athlete. Her accomplishments included receiving the National Army Scholar Athlete Award and the Coaches Award in basketball.
