2016: As a freshman, Ballenger was limited to 15 matches due to injury but finished with four kills, four aces, 12 digs and two blocks (one solo). She produced a season-high four digs in a straight set win over Macomb on Sept. 4.
Prior to Owens: Ballenger came to Owens as a two-time district player of the year at Fremont Ross. She also earned Honorable Mention All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) and First Team All-District recognition, while playing for head coach Lyndsey Robinson.
Academically, Ballenger was a member of the National Honor Society (NHS). She was also a member of the TRAC's All-Academic team.
Personal: Leah is the daughter of Dave and Reenie Ballenger. She has two siblings - Josh and Jared.
