Scott Breaks Rebounding Record and Nears Rebounding Milestone

Karahn Scott broke the single game rebounding record with a total of 22 rebounds against Edison Community College on Jan. 30. She had nine offensive rebounds.

Scott had nine rebounds in the first half (three offensive) and 13 rebounds in the second half (six offensive).

Throughout the game, she also had 19 points, two steals and one assist.

Scott passed four record holders who each had 21 rebounds during the game: Brittany Darling vs. Columbus State Community College (1-16-10) and vs. Cuyahoga Community College (2-3-10); Tammy Murphy vs. Cincinnati State Community College (3-1-97); Becky Knannlein vs. Clark State Community College (1-25-96); and Kenya Dixon vs. Mott Community College (11-23-93).

Scott then added 14 points, 11 rebounds (three offensive), one assist and one steal in Saturday’s 80-68 win over Columbus State Community College.

Scott is a factor that opposing teams have to consider during a game. She averages 11.8 points and 9.7 rebounds a game. She has three straight double-doubles and seven double-doubles this season.

She is nearing a rebounding milestone as she sits at 399 career rebounds.
