Prior to Owens: Samson was a two-time First Team All-Ohio Cardinal Conference and First Team All-Daily Record selection, as well as a one time Second Team All-Ohio Cardinal Conference selection. Academically, he was an honor roll student with a 3.5 GPA each year.

Personal: Alex is the son of Scott and Fran Samson. He has three brothers - Walt, Adam and Michael.
