Detroit, MI---Antoine Bedford, a 6'6" forward from Detroit East English Village Prepatory Academy, has signed a letter of intent to become the first member of the 2013-14 Express men's basketball freshmen class.

Bedford averaged 18 points and nine rebounds his senior year and was named to the Detroit Free Press All-City team. Additionally, he was a PSL Proud Learner Player of the Week.

He played for coach Juan Rickman at East English Village, and he played AAU basketball for the Detroit Stars.

Bedford, who played with current Express men's basketball player Markese Allen at Detroit Crockett before the school closed, had NCAA D-I offers from Bethune Cookman and UC Irvine during his senior year.

The Express men's basketball team finished 26-10 last season, captured the Region XII/District 11 championship, and advanced to the NJCAA D-II Final Four before falling to eventual national champion Rend Lake in the semifinals.
