In her one season, Brown helped lead the Owens women's basketball team to its best season in program history. They finished 34-2 overall and 14-0 in OCCAC play, while capturing a college record 33 straight wins, the program's first undefeated conference season, its third straight OCCAC title, its second Region XII District I championship in three years and a third place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
She was responsible for overseeing the team's academics and works with the post players.
Brown, who played for the Owens women's basketball program from 2003-05, prepped at Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio. Following her time at Owens, she went on to play at NCAA Division I South Carolina State University.
While at Owens, she recorded the eighth highest career scoring total in the program's history with 885 points. Both of her season scoring totals remain in the top 30 of the single season scoring list, as well. She also nearly averaged a double-double for the duration of her career.
As a freshman, Brown helped lead the Express to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament, where she was named to the all-tournament team while leading the team to a ninth place finish. During the district tournament, she led the team to their second straight district championship by earning tournament MVP honors. Following the season, she was named Second Team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and was named the team's MVP.
In the team's opening game of the national tournament, Brown had 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the team to a 62-59 win over Johnson County. In the team's second game, an 89-80 loss to Kalamazoo Valley, Brown notched 17 points and 13 rebounds. She then added 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 70-61 loss to Parkland. Brown averaged 18 points and just under 13 rebounds during the tournament.
As a sophomore, Brown averaged 18 points and nine rebounds per game under first-year head coach Michael Llanas, who is now in his 11th season at Owens. Following the season, she was named First Team All-OCCAC and became one of only two players in program history to earn back-to-back team MVP awards.
Brown earned an associate's degree in criminal justice from Owens Community College and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from South Carolina State University.
Brown currently serves as a shift supervisor at the Department of Lucas County Common Pleas of Work Release. She monitors safety and security violations, provides back-up support to line staff and facility surveillance.
